Injured driver sues another motorist, insurance firm in traffic accident dispute

A Granite City woman is suing her insurance company and another driver in a dispute involving a traffic accident.

Taylor Foster filed a lawsuit on Oct. 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Cheyann Arnold of Granite City and Country Preferred Insurance Co. of Bloomington.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 4, 2013, Arnold ignored a stop sign near the intersection of Carlson and Jill Avenue in Granite City, allegedly causing an accident that injured Foster’s foot, back, neck and spine. The complaint seeks compensation for pain, suffering, disability and medical expenses.

The suit also seeks coverage for damages from Preferred Insurance Co. under the plaintiff's policy coverage for under-insured motorists. According to the lawsuit, Arnold is under-insured and her insurance won’t fully cover the plaintiff's damages.

Foster seeks damages of more than $50,000 on both counts, plus other relief allowed by the court. She is represented by attorney Eric W. Evans of Evans Blasi in Granite City.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-1346.
