Third Judicial Circuit judges have voted to select Donald M. Flack, Maureen D. Schuette and Luther W. Simmons as associate judges of the Third Judicial Circuit.

Flack was one of the five associate judges who was not re-appointed in a vote by the same judges a few months ago. He served until June 30.

He received his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University in 1988 and his juris doctor from St. Louis University in 1993.

Schuette received her undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1984 and her juris doctor from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash. in 1988.

She currently operates a family law practice in Edwardsville.

Flack is expected to begin duties as an associate judge again sometime this week. The circuit court is currently working on final accommodations for his office, according to a court employee

Schuette and Simmons will begin their official duties when the temporary terms of judges Lola Maddox and Ralph Mendelsohn conclude at the end of September. The two retired judges were brought back by special appointment until vacancies at the Third Circuit were filled.

Schuette’s swearing in ceremony has been scheduled for Oct. 9.

Simmons' swearing in ceremony has been scheduled for Oct. 2.
