A woman has filed suit against a driver who she claims attempted to turn in front of her and caused a collision.
Jacqueline G. Racener claims she was driving her 1992 Mercury Sable north on Frank Scott Parkway near its intersection with North Belt West on Sept. 10, 2011 when defendant Jenene L. Biggerstaff, who was attempting to turn her 2004 Cadillac Deville left onto Frank Scott Parkway in Belleville, failed to keep her vehicle under proper control and struck her Mercury.
Because of the collision, Racener suffered mental pain and anguish, incurred medical costs and lost wages, according to the complaint filed Sept. 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Biggerstaff, the suit alleges, negligently failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to stop or take evasive measures to avoid a collision, drove without safe brakes and failed to stop to avoid a collision.
In her complaint, Racener is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Thomas B. Cannady of Cannady and AuBuchon in Belleville will be representing her.
