Hustler Club patron sues after getting shot in stomach

A Washington Park strip club is being sued by a customer who says he was shot in the parking lot.

Barry E. Tonsor filed a lawsuit Aug. 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Deja Vu Showgirls-Washington Park LLC, doing business as Larry Flynt's Hustler Club, WP 5420 Bunkum LLC and Jared Peyman.

Tonsor says he was a customer of the Bunkum Road Hustler Club on April 22. Tonsor claims he was standing in the club's parking lot when he was shot in the stomach. Tonsor contends the defendants were negligent in failing to provide a safe environment or adequate security to avoid the shooting. He asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, lost wages and costs of the lawsuit.

Attorneys Steven W. Selby of Alton and Craig M. Grummel of Carrollton represent Tonsor.
