Tooth broke into pieces after man bites into glass embedded in Domino's pizza, suit says

A man claims his tooth broke into pieces after he bit on a piece of glass that was embedded into his pizza.

Darin Trent and David Johnson filed a lawsuit Aug. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court against Dominos Pizza.

In their complaint, Trent and Johnson allege they split a Dominos pizza on April 18, 2013, and had it delivered to the Madison County Criminal Justice Center, where they were stationed. While eating the pizza, Johnson bit down on something hard, according to the complaint.

“He removed a piece of glass from the pizza,” the suit states. “In so doing his finger was cut. Further he began to feel pain in his tooth.”

Trent had also ingested some of the glass, so both Johnson and Trent went to the Gateway Regional Hospital where they were treated.

Soon after the incident, Johnson’s tooth broke into pieces and fell out of his mouth, the complaint says.

In their complaint, Trent and Johnson are seeking a judgment of more than $150,000, plus other relief to which he is entitled.

Brian L. Polinske of Polinske and Associates in Edwardsville will be representing them.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-1473.
