I-270 accident is subject of suit

A man claims he sustained injuries after a driver collided with his vehicle on the interstate.

Jeffrey Rawls filed a lawsuit April 20 in Madison County Circuit Court against April and David Lauchner.

In his complaint, Rawls alleges he drove east on Interstate 270 when April Lauchner, who was also driving east on the same road, collided with Rawls's vehicle.

In addition to his injuries, Rawls experienced pain and suffering, incurred medical costs and lost wages, according to the complaint.

Rawls blames April Lauchner for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a sufficient lookout, failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, drove too fast and failed to see other vehicles.

Rawls also names David Lauchner as a defendant, saying he should not have allowed April Lauchner to drive his vehicle without due care and caution.

In his two-count complaint, Rawls seeks a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

He will be represented by Blake G. Meinders of Belleville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-521.
