A total of 19 new asbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of July 26 through July 30.
The following complaints were filed:
--Anthony Broussard of New Jersey, a race track attendant and garbage man from 1970 until 2005, claims mesothelioma. Broussard will be represented by Randy S. Cohn and Sean M. --Henry Faxon III of California claims his recently deceased father, Henry Faxon Jr., developed mesothelioma after his work in the engine room for the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1962, as a shipfitter for Bethlehem Steel from 1965 until 1973 and as a shipfitter from 1974 until 1980. Henry Faxon III will be represented by Randy L. Gori of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. W. Mark Lanier, Patrick N. Haines, R. Craig Bullock and J. --Katie Griffith of Missouri claims her recently deceased husband, Dale Griffith, developed mesothelioma after his work as a laborer at HB Deal and Co. in 1942, as a laborer at Reynolds Gammill Lumber Co. in 1946, as a laborer at Earthgrains Baking Companies from 1946 until 1951, as a laborer at Pan-Am Southern Corp. from 1951 until 1957, as a laborer at American Oil Company from 1957 until 1960, as a laborer at Superior Lumber Co. in 1959 and as a pipefitter at BP Products North America from 1961 until 1982. --Katherine Hensley of Illinois, an assembler and hydraulic specialist from 1972 until 2007, claims mesothelioma. Hensley was also secondarily exposed to asbestos fibers through her mother, who worked as a grinder from 1972 until 1995, and through her ex-husband, who worked as a welder and assembler from 1973 until 1983, according to the complaint. --Jane Herrington of Florida claims her recently deceased father, George M. Green, developed stomach cancer after his work as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946, as a welder at various locations from 1947 until 1948, as an automobile mechanic from 1949 until 1955 and as an appliance repairman from 1956 until 1979. --Paul and Marsha Jankowski of Ohio claim Paul Jankowski developed mesothelioma after his work as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1963 until 1969, at Grinnell Corporation from 1969 until 1978, at Jammasco Fabricating and Equipment from 1978 until 1979, at Republic Steel from 1979 until 1984 and at Packard Electric Company from 1985 until 2003. --Stephanie Lambert of Ohio claims her recently deceased father, Ralph Carle, developed mesothelioma after his work as an insulator for Asbestos Workers Union No. 8 from 1949 until the 1980s. --Janice Martinez of Louisiana claims her recently deceased husband, Ralph Martinez, developed mesothelioma after his work as an HVAC worker and pilot at various locations from 1961 until 2008. --Jeanne Middleton of Texas, an English teacher at various locations throughout the United States from 1964 until 2009, claims mesothelioma. Middleton was also secondarily exposed to asbestos fibers through her father, who worked as a distribution manager from 1942 until 1980, according to the complaint. --Zenon and Alice Montoya of New Mexico claim Zenon Montoya developed mesothelioma after his work as a member of the Amarillo, Texas, insulators' union from 1961 until 2003. --Caroline O'Connell of California claims her recently deceased father, Lloyd Hussey, developed lung cancer after his work as a dairy farmer from 1943 until 1954 and from 1957 until 1967, an airman in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 until 1957 and an able bodied seaman and laborer from 1967 until 1979. --Esther Silva of Illinois claims her recently deceased mother, Esther C. Silva, developed mesothelioma after her work as a laborer from 1981 until 1994. Esther C. Silva was also secondarily exposed to asbestos fibers through her husband, Cliserio Silva, who worked as a railroad maintenance worker from 1967 until 1997, according to the complaint. --Roy and Bonnie Schmerbauch of Illinois claim Roy Schmerbauch developed lung cancer after his work as a laborer in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1954 and as a crane operator, lift truck driver, scarfer and janitor from 1955 until 1995, claims lung cancer. --Michael L. Smith of Illinois, a machinist mate at various locations and a member of the U.S. Navy from 1968 until 1974 and a steel worker from 1974 until now, claims mesothelioma. --Thomas and Milissa Westbrook of Tennessee claim Thomas Westbrook developed lung cancer after his work as a laborer for AAA Paving Company in 1967, as a laborer for 3M Company from 1968 until 1969, as a grinder for 3M Company from 1971 until 1975, as an equipment operator for J.J. Brown Tree Company from 1975 until 1976, as an assistant manager for Cavalier Corp. from 1976 until 1978 and as a facilities manager for Tennessee Valley Authority from 1978 until 2007.
