Accident on Geronimo subject of suit

A man has filed suit against the driver of a car who he says was involved in a collision while the plaintiff was riding with him.

William Wilson claims he was riding in a vehicle Allen Smith was driving west on Kingsbury on April 17, 2008, at about 11:53 a.m. Smith attempted to turn left onto Geronimo when the collision occurred, according to the complaint filed Feb. 3 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Because of the accident, Wilson suffered injuries to his neck; experienced pain, suffering, disability and lost wages; and incurred medical costs, the suit states.

Smith negligently failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, drove too fast, failed to yield the right-of-way and failed to keep a proper lookout, the complaint says.

Wilson is seeking an unspecified judgment, plus costs.

He will be represented by Lance R. Mallon and Dawna M. Hale of Mallon and Hale in Wood River.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-117.
