Troy accident trial continued

Ruth

The trial of a 2007 automobile accident in Troy has been continued. It was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday, June 15.

Plaintiff Melvin Moore is suing the driver he claims rear-ended him in Troy two years ago. He is asking for $50,000 and costs.
Madison County Circuit Judge Dennis Ruth is presiding.

Court records do not, as yet, indicate when the two sides will be back in court.

According to the complaint, Moore alleges that Jennifer Stephens failed to keep proper look out, sound a warning and failed to take proper care to avoid rear-ending him while both drove west on Edwardsville Road.

Moore claims he was severely injured in the 2007 accident. He is suing Stephens for medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life and future disfigurement.

Stephens denied Moore's charges in her answer to his complaint.

Moore is represented by John Geismann of Highland.

Stephens is represented by Michael Tackett.

The case is Madison case number 08-L-023.
