11 new asbestos cases filed May 25-29 in Madison County

A total of 11 new asbestos lawsuits were filed in Madison County Circuit Court during the week of May 25 through May 29.

The following complaints were filed:

--Robert K. Anderson Sr. and Terri Anderson of Wisconsin claim Robert K. Anderson developed lung cancer after his work as a laborer at C.R. Meyers and Youg's in the 1980s, as an insulator at Combustion Engineer in 1967, as an insulator at Taylor Insulation in 1968 and as a cable splicer at Solarus from 1969 until 1999. The Andersons are represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-532.

--Patricia L. Duncan claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Charles Duncan, who worked from 1953 until 1980 as a carpenter and millwright at various locations. Patricia L. Duncan is represented by Andrew O'Brien, Christopher Thoron, Christina J. Nielson, Bartholomew J. Baumstark and Gerald J. FitzGerald of the O'Brien Law Firm in St. Louis. --Annette Jarvis of Kansas claims her recently deceased husband, Richard J. Jarvis, developed lung cancer after serving in the U.S. Navy and working as a laborer at Union Pacific Railroad. Annette Jarvis is represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-539.

--Rosalee Klataske of Missouri claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased father, Billy Lee Fast, a farmhand and factory worker at various locations from 1957 until 1976. Klataske is represented by Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-536.

--Mary E. Lemberger claims mesothelioma on behalf of her recently deceased husband, Jerome Lemberger, who served in the U.S. Navy from 1940 until 1946 as an electrician's mate and who worked as an electrical engineer at various locations from 1946 until 1982. Mary E. Lemberger is represented by Andrew O'Brien, Christopher Thoron, Christina J. Nielson, Bartholomew J. Baumstark and Gerald J. FitzGerald of the O'Brien Law Firm in St. Louis. --Vincenzo LoGrasso of California, a cook, chef, kitchen helper and restaurant owner/operator at various locations from 1968 until 2004, claims mesothelioma. LoGrasso is represented by Robert Phillips, Perry J. Browder and Rosalind M. Robertson of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-535.

--James Lombardi, a home builder, refrigerator and furnace cleaner, carpenter, box car cleaner and mechanic from 1960 until the 1980s, claims mesothelioma. Lombardi says he was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his father, who worked as an open hearth, grinder and chipper from 1925 until 1955. Lombardi is represented by Randy L. --Carlyle Pietro of Pennsylvania, an auto service man, carpenter, painter, laborer, shipping department clerk, foreman, sailor and storekeeper in the U.S. Navy from 1957 until 2000, claims mesothelioma. Pietro is represented by T. Barton French Jr. and Nate Mudd of French and Mudd in St. Louis. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-548.

--Jason Smith of Tennessee claims his recently deceased father, Clayton Smith, developed mesothelioma after his work as an insurance and medical claims adjustor at various locations through Illinois, Arizona, Iowa, California and Tennessee from 1965 until 2000. Smith is represented by Timothy F. Thompson Jr. of SimmonsCooper in

--Robert G. Swaim of Arkansas, a fabricator, tester and analyzer from 1971 until 1975, claims mesothelioma. Swaim says he was also secondarily exposed to asbestos through his father, who worked as a carman from 1952 until 1961 and at various service stations from the late 1960s through the mid 1980s, and his mother, who worked at AT&T from 1966 until the late 1990s. --Larry Williams of Illinois, an auto mechanic, forklift operator, line worker, machinist, industrial/auto repairman and laborer at various locations throughout Illinois from 1964 through 2009, claims mesothelioma.
