A former employee of Firestone who was hurt during the course of his employment claims he lost his job after filing a workers' compensation claim.
Frank Dilallo filed a retaliatory discharge suit against BFS Retail & Commercial Operations LLC, doing business as Bridgestone/Firestone, in St. Clair County Circuit Court April 10.
Dilallo claims he was injured April 15, 2004, and then exercised his rights by requesting work comp benefits.
"On or about May 26, 2005, Firestone discharged Frank Dilallo," the complaint states.
Dilallo is seeking in excess of $50,000 for past lost wages and future loss of earnings, past and future pain and suffering and damages for emotional distress.
He also seeks punitive damages for Firestone's "unreasonable and vexatious discharge."
Dilallo is represented by Michael J. Brunton of Brunton Law Offices in Collinsville.
