Walnut Hill Cemetery Chapel Renovations
Re-Dedication & Ribbon-Cutting
BELLEVILLE, IL, May 26, 2006 – The City of Belleville, Illinois hosted a re-dedication of the Walnut Hill Cemetery Chapel, May 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. located at 1101 Mascoutah Avenue in Belleville.
The public was invited to view the exterior-renovations made to the existing chapel at Walnut Hill Cemetery. The newly completed improvements include building siding, windows, roof, asphalt driveway, and entrance marker totaling $52,000.
"The building has aged a great deal over the decades and we decided it was time to add a modern touch," said Jeff Dawe, Superintendent of Walnut Hill Cemetery. Mayor Mark Eckert added, "Completing the well-needed renovations to the chapel's exterior is just one more step in improving our city."
The chapel's casket service fees run $700 - Monday through Friday, $850 - Saturdays, and $900 - Sundays and holidays.
The chapel's urn service fees run $270 – Monday through Friday, $450 - Saturdays, and $550 - Sundays and holidays.
