Chief Justice John Roberts
The United States Senate voted 78-22 to confirm Judge John Roberts as Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court making him the youngest Chief Justice in 200 years.
Democratic Illinois Senators Barack Obama and Dick Durbin both voted against Roberts while both Missouri senators voted for Roberts' confirmation.
Roberts will be sworn in at the White House immediately after his confirmation, so he will be ready to take his seat when the Supreme Court opens Oct 3.
