Alton Memorial Hospital v. Devin Scott

  • Alton Memorial claims Scott received services in July 2004, and has yet to pay his bill even though he signed a contract agreeing to do so. Alton is seeking $103,355.28 in damages plus 5 percent interest per year.

    Richard Unangst and Kim Unangst v. Fire Safety Inc., Kidde PLC, and United Technologies

  • Unangst claims that the fire extinguishing system which was in place at Olin failed to operate during a fire because of a defective sensor on Jan. 10, severely burning him. Unangst and his wife--who is seeking damages for loss of consortium--are seeking at least $300,000 in damages.

  • White claims AZ involuntarily discharged him from employment on Feb. 22, in retaliation for his activities in pursuing statutory rights and benefits under the Illinois Worker's Compensation Act. White is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 plus costs of the suit.

    Lloyd McBride v. Barbara Handshy, Lawrence Watson and Eddie’s Lounge

  • McBride claims Handshy was drunk when she drove a Ford pickup through the front window of a Granite City Quik Trip store, pinning him against the back wall and causing severe injuries on Aug. 29, 2004. McBride claims vehicle owner Watson was negligent by failing to properly supervise Handshy when she had control of the truck and that Eddie’s Lounge served her too many alcoholic beverages earlier that night. McBride is seeking at least $150,000 in damages.
