The Granite City Park District is asking that a lawsuit filed by a woman who allegedly hurt herself on a raised sidewalk be dismissed.
Kara Jones of Carbondale, who representes Granite City, will present arguments before Circuit Judge George Moran at 9 a.m. on Aug. 24.
Sharron Case was on her way to vote at Granite City's Wilson Park during the last municipal election April 5 when the alleged incident took place.
Case is seeking damages for pain, suffering, medical expenses and lost wages. She is represented by John Hustava of Collinsville.
Case claims she broke her wrist and suffered neck, shoulder, back, knee and face injuries after tripping on a two-inch raised sidewalk.
