Tammy Spann of Wood River filed a dram shop lawsuit against American Legion Post 1167 in South Roxana Jan. 24 claiming she was severely and permanently injured after a drunken patron fell violently on her right side.
Spann alleges that on April 17, 2004, the Legion served alcohol to Jim Tremeno, a part-time clean-up man, and he became drunk.
Shortly after becoming intoxicated, Tremeno got into an altercation with another patron in the establishment. During the altercation the other patron fell violently against her right side causing severe and permanent injuries.
Represented by Robert Gregory of East Alton, Spann is seeking at least $50,000 in damages for past and future medical bills, lost wages, and for great pain and suffering, disfigurement and disability of her right knee.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Philip Kardis in Granite City.
