Collinsville man alleges accident caused injuries

A Collinsville motorist has sued the Granite City driver who allegedly caused him injuries in a 2013 auto accident.

Donald W. Miller filed a lawsuit filed April 2 in Madison County Circuit Court against Denise Ann Davidson, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, on May 28, 2013, Miller was driving his 2008 GMC Sierra west on Madison Avenue in Granite City and, after stopping at 23rd Street, Davidson, who was also traveling west on Madison in a 2006 Saturn Ion, pulled in the lane behind Miller and struck him in the rear.

In addition to repairs of as much as $3,600, Miller also suffered physical injuries, "including pain in his neck, back, right leg and sciatic nerve," the suit states. The suit blames Davidson for negligently and carelessly failing to keep her vehicle under control, failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles and failing to stop or swerve to avoid colliding with Miller's vehicle.

Miller seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by attorney Bill T. Walker of Granite City.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 15-L-431.
