A couple who were injured in a "violent" rear-end crash in Collinsville are suing Ramon's El Dorado restaurant and its owners for allegedly serving alcohol to the person who caused the accident.
Driver Douglas Smith and his passenger Jean Causey filed suit against the restaurant and Ramon and Carlos Otero on Feb. 17 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Smith and Causey say the accident took place March 21, 2014 on North Bluff Road.
The suit does not name as a defendant the driver who crashed into the rear of Smith's Chevrolet Silverado.
The plaintiffs claim they suffered loss of normal life as a result of their severe injuries.
They are represented by Michael Glisson of Alton.
