Attorney Sandor Korein is denying liability in a St. Clair County accident lawsuit that accuses him of running a stop sign at Foley Drive and 78th Street in Belleville on June 30, 2012.
Plaintiff Robert Day sued Korein on May 30, claiming he suffered neck, shoulder and back injuries, among other things. He is represented by John Hustava of Collinsville and seeks in excess of $50,000 in damages.
Korein, represented by Daniel Bradley of DeFranco and Bradley in Fairview Heights, claims that Day's conduct was the sole and proximate cause of any injuries he may have suffered.
In Korein's answer filed Sept. 24, Bradley says that Day failed to reduce his speed and failed to keep a proper lookout.
Bradley also states that Day's contributory fault is in excess of 50 percent, barring recovery of damages,
Circuit Judge Robert LeChien presides.
St. Clair County case number 14-L-361.
