MADISON - ST. CLAIR RECORD

Second quarter campaign disclosure reports filed recently show that candidates for St. Clair County circuit judge raised a total of $19,020.

Circuit Judge Stephen McGlynn, Republican, and Associate Judge Heinz Rudolf, Democrat, are vying for the seat left vacant by former judge Michael Cook who resigned last year after he was arrested on heroin possession and weapons charges. Cook is serving a two-year sentence.

McGlynn was appointed to Cook's seat on July 1, 2013.

Between April 1 and June 30, McGlynn raised a total of $14,170, including transfers and itemized and not-itemized indivdual contributions.

Individual contributions to McGlynn:

- $5,000 from Joe Behnken of O'Fallon
- $2,500 from Village Bank of St. Libory President Kathleen Cook
- $2,500 from Robert McGlynn of Belleville
- $500 from Marty Dowd of O'Fallon
- $300 from O'Fallon attorney David Duree
- $200 from James Cook of Fairview Heights

Rudolf raised $4,850, of which $3,350 was not-itemized. Contributions under $200 do not have to be itemized.

Individual contributions to Rudolf:

- $500 from Dr. Larry Howenstein of Fairview Heights
- $200 from Kevin Beyersdorfer of Belleville
- $200 from Steven Mathus of Belleville
- $200 from Dr. Heinz Rudolf of Swansea
- $200 from Dr. James Stubblefield of Swansea
- $200 from Mike Wenzel of Belleville

When Cook ran for for circuit judge in 2010, his campaign committee had raised $123,500 in the second quarter. The committee also supported the circuit judge candidacy of Robert Haida.

This year's election is Nov. 4.
