Clayton attorney secures $975K settlement in trucking accident

Clayton attorney David J. Gregory secured a $975,000 settlement for a Missouri couple injured when their Dodge Ram truck was struck by an 18-wheel truck four years ago in Arkansas.

Gregory represented Scott and Sharon Baker of Doniphan, Mo. in their suit against Rexdon Inc. and its driver Danny Waymon in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.

The Bakers claimed that Waymon struck the rear passenger side of their vehicle at low speed on Highway 67 South in Pocahontas, Ark. on Feb. 1, 2010.

“The outcome of this case shows how crucial it is for trucking companies and their drivers to abide by laws and regulations set by the federal government,” Gregory said.  “Even minor, low speed accidents involving semi-trucks can result in serious injuries.”

Gregory is a founding partner of Drivers Defense Counsel.

The Bakers claimed expenses for emergency care, surgical procedures, hospitalization expenses and other healthcare costs. They also claimed they have had to deal with long-term recovery and rehabilitation.

“What began as a very unfortunate circumstance now has a financial resolution that will genuinely help my injured clients,” Gregory said.
