A bicyclist is suing after she was injured following a car accident.
Lilly Lai is suing Pratik Patel in St. Clair County Circuit Court after she was allegedly hit by Pratik while riding her bike.
Lai filed her lawsuit on Jan. 29. In it, she accuses Pratik of hitting her with his car in January 2012. Lai says she was riding her bike near the intersection of North Illinois Street and State Highway 161 in Swansea. Lai claims she had the right-of-way and Pratik failed to stop or yield when he saw her riding her bike. Lai is accusing Pratik of driving negligently and seeks to hold him liable for her injuries.
Lai is seeking more than $50,000 in damages.
She is being represented by attorney Kenneth B. Beljanski.
