A St. Clair County motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a rear-end collision.
Bennie Weatherby filed a lawsuit on May 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Heather Holman.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 10, Weatherby was driving his motor vehicle southbound on Mississippi Avenue at its intersection with Queeny Avenue in Sauget when Holman struck the rear of the plaintiff’s vehicle.
The plaintiff accuses Holman of failing to keep a proper lookout for other automobiles on the road, control her vehicle, keep an appropriate distance from the vehicle in front of hers and maintain a proper speed for traffic conditions.
The complaint states that as a direct and proximate result of the defendant’s negligence and/or omissions, Weatherby received injuries to his neck, shoulders, head, limbs and general body. The plaintiff contends he has incurred medical expenses, lost wages and earning capacity, pain and suffering.
Weatherby seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs. He is represented by attorneys Thomas Rich, Kristina Cooksey and Michelle Rich of Thomas C. Rich in Fairview Heights.
