Eden Retirement Center A former employee filed a defamation suit against the Eden Retirement Center in Glen Carbon and its human resources manager, Beth Briehan, for making false accusations of sexual misconduct.

O�Reilly Auto Parts O’Reilly Auto Parts and air compressor manufacturer, Wilmar Corp., were sued in Madison County Circuit Court Oct. 19 by a man who was injured while using the product.

Rosewood Care Center The daughter of Doris Golanda Ebmeyer filed a wrongful death suit against Rosewood Care Center of Edwardsville claiming it failed to properly treat her mother during a medical emergency.
Seeing eye dog's death blamed on Highland Animal Shelter
Highland Animal Shelter Jeanette Small of Highland is suing the Highland Animal Shelter claiming her seeing eye dog, Linus, was attacked and killed by other animals at the shelter on Oct. 19, 2004.
Water fall suit filed against K-Mart in Madison County
Collinsville K-Mart Alma Matthews filed suit against K-Mart in Madison County Circuit Court Oct. 20, claiming she slipped on a puddle of water and injured herself.
$2 million FELA suit filed by Tennessee
Harold Crocker of South Fulton, Tenn. filed a Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA) suit in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis against Canadian National/Illinois Central Railroad Oct. 24.
Racial discrimination suit filed against Alton bar in federal court
Charles Jordan filed suit against Mac’s Timeout Lounge and its owner, Van “Mac” Lenhardt in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis Oct. 24 claiming he was kicked out of the bar because he was African-American.
Former inmate sues friend for stealing while he was away
A former inmate at the Menard Correctional Center in Chester filed suit against his friend in St. Clair County Circuit Court Oct. 18, alleging August Hiemer of Mascoutah stole personal items and money from him while he was in prison.
Latex allergy sufferer sues employer for termination, emotional distress
A janitor fired for not wearing synthetic latex gloves has filed suit against his former employer, Heartland Regional Medical Center of St. Joseph, Mo., alleging discrimination because of his disability.
