MOUNT VERNON – Fifth District appellate judges hammered Madison County board chairman Alan Dunstan and county administrator Joseph Parente on Aug. 5, for banning veteran assistance superintendent Brad Lavite from their building.
EDWARDSVILLE – Madison County veteran services superintendent Brad Lavite must stay out of the county administration building, circuit judge Stephen Stobbs ruled on Sept. 1. Stobbs denied a writ of mandamus that would have allowed Lavite to resume working in his office on the building’s ground floor. County administrator Joseph Parente ordered Lavite to stay away in March, after he allegedly damaged windows and a door of a Wood River police patrol car.
Hamel Co-Op Grain Company has filed a breach of contract suit against a Worden man, alleging he failed to pay amounts due under the terms of the contract.
The intersection of Routes 161 and 159 in Swansea The Village of Swansea is being sued by the guardians of a Hamel woman who suffered brain damage after being struck by a vehicle in the crosswalk at North Belt East (Route 161) and North Illinois Street (Route 159).
