Brittany Woodford has filed a lawsuit against DG Retail, LLC, doing business as Dollar General, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. The case, bearing the ID 3:24-cv-00973-MAB, was filed on March 28, 2024. Woodford alleges that Dollar General discriminated against her based on her disability and engaged in sexual harassment and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. She also accuses the company of failing to pay her final wage under the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act.

Woodford's counsel states that she was employed by Dollar General as a key holder from October 10, 2022 until her alleged unlawful termination on November 22, 2023. The plaintiff claims she met or exceeded performance expectations throughout her employment. She further asserts that she is disabled due to diagnoses of bipolar disorder, PTSD, and ADHD.

Woodford is seeking redress for what she alleges are violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title VII. Her complaint includes allegations of disability-based harassment and sex-based discrimination. Furthermore, she claims Dollar General failed to pay her final wage in violation of state law.
