Progressive Universal Insurance Co. has filed an appeal against the interlocutory order granted to defendant Pamela Green, Tori Lonsdale, Cara Lonsdale, and Chemical Concepts Inc., by the Circuit Court of Madison County, Illinois (Case No. 23-MR-167) on November 3, 2023. The case is presided over by Judge Ronald J. Foster Jr.

The lawsuit was initiated after a car accident involving vehicles driven by Tori Lonsdale and Pamela Green on October 12, 2022. Progressive claims that the vehicle driven by Tori at the time of the accident was not covered under the Lonsdale family insurance policy. The insurer alleges that Cara Lonsdale, the policy owner, did not notify them about the ownership of the involved Chevrolet Cruze within 30 days of its purchase.

Progressive is seeking a judgment declaring it does not owe a duty to defend or indemnify Cara, Tori, or Chemical Concepts in relation to Pamela's litigation stemming from the collision. Additionally, Progressive asserts it is not responsible for paying any sums awarded to Pamela or any sums to Cara, Tori, or Chemical Concepts related to the collision.
