EDWARDSVILLE - A Madison homeowner claims the negligent installation of two egress windows allowed water to get into the basement.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by Demetrius Deangelo Buntyn against ASA Construction Services LLC.

According to the complaint, the defendant was contracted to install two egress windows, which were allegedly installed without a pump.

Buntyn claims he notified ASA Construction about the improper installation and subsequent water damage to his property. He alleges the company breached an implied warranty of good workmanship by failing to install the windows correctly. The water infiltration caused damage not only to the carpet but also required remediation efforts by third parties.

Buntyn is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000 for both repairing and remedying the alleged unworkmanlike services and replacing other damaged personal property at his premises. He is represented by Thomas Maag of the Maag Law Firm.
