EDWARDSVILLE - A truck mechanic claims he was wrongfully terminated due to his age and/or perceived disability.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by Richard R. Warren, a truck mechanic, against his former employer, Truck Centers Inc.

Warren, who is over 50 years old, claims that despite having physical and mental disabilities resulting from a motor vehicle crash in 2000, his condition did not interfere with his job performance as a technician with inspection duties. However, he claims he was terminated following an incident at the shop, and the company replaced him with a younger man.

The plaintiff further claims that he was not fully compensated for the wages and benefits he had earned at the time of discharge.

Warren seeks an amount in excess of $50,000 for each count of alleged age discrimination and disability discrimination under Illinois law. He is represented by Brian Wendler and Wendler & Zinzilieta.
