BELLEVILLE - A woman claims she was injured when she slipped and fell while exiting a skating rink.

The lawsuit was filed in the St. Clair County Circuit Court by Laurentine Owens against Fun Spot Skating Arena, also known as Rolo Skate Inc.

The plaintiff alleges she slipped and fell on an extremely slick portion of the floor near the rink's exit while leaving the skating rink on Dec. 29, 2021. Owens claims Fun Spot failed to properly monitor and maintain a safe, non-slick skating area and failed to provide any warning about the condition of the floor.

Owens is represented by attorney Mark S. Peebles of Peebles & Associates, LLC. She asserts that due to Fun Spot's negligence, she sustained severe, permanent and progressive injuries including a fractured right ankle.

The plaintiff is seeking judgment against Fun Spot for an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Mark S. Peebles of Peebles & Associates LLC.
