EDWARDSVILLE - A woman claims she volunteered to deliver groceries to a Granite City home when she tripped and fell.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by Tracey Angle against Stephen Schwander and Equity Trust Company.

According to the complaint, Angle was delivering groceries as a volunteer at Schwander's property in Granite City on May 5, 2023. She claims she tripped over an exposed wooden stake hidden in the grass and weeds, which resulted in her injury. Angle alleges Schwander and Equity Trust Company were negligent for not properly maintaining the property and failing to warn her about the potential hazard.

Angle seeks compensation for medical expenses and lost wages, plus any other relief the court deems just. The plaintiff is represented by Thomas Kemper of Butler & Kemper.
