EDWARDSVILLE - A lawsuit filed against physicians alleges a patient died as a result of receiving an excessive dose of warfarin.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by plaintiff Kenneth E. Marshall, as administrator of the estate of Judith Ann Marshall, against defendants Associated Physicians Group Ltd., Dr. Christopher Green, and Sarah Davis, FNP-C.

According to the complaint, Judith Marshall was the defendants' patient. While she was in their care, the suit states that the defendants failed to adequately monitor her prothrombin times while she was on warfarin therapy for chronic anticoagulation.

This alleged negligence led to Judith receiving an excessive dose of warfarin, causing her to suffer from excessive bleeding, intracranial hemorrhage, and a subdural hematoma, the suit states. Judith allegedly died as a result of the defendants' negligence on March 8th.

The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of $50,000 for conscious pain and suffering endured by Judith Marshall prior to her death. The plaintiff is represented by Pratt & Tobin, P.C.
