EDWARDSVILLE - A man claims a wheel fell off his truck and caused damage after having the tires and rims replaced at Cheapies.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by Joshua L. Hamlin against Cheapies #2, LLC.

According to the complaint, Hamlin took his truck to Cheapies to have work done, including new tires and rims. Hamlin alleges that as he was leaving, one of the wheels became unattached and rolled under the chassis, causing his truck to abruptly lift and slam down onto the concrete. The wheel then allegedly rolled down the road.

The complaint alleges Cheapies is negligent for failing to properly secure the wheel and failing to confirm it had been correctly installed.

Hamlin is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by Keith Short of Keith Short & Associates PC.
