EDWARDSVILLE - A man claims he was injured when he slipped and fell on liquid while shopping at Walmart.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by plaintiff Ronald Howard against Walmart Inc. and Glenn Masterson.

According to the complaint, Howard claims he was at a Walmart store on July 16, 2023, when he slipped and fell due to an alleged dangerous condition. The plaintiff alleges a clear liquid believed to be detergent was present on the interior walkway of the store, which posed an unreasonable risk of harm to people lawfully on the premises.

Howard alleges Walmart and its employees were negligent for failing to inspect and maintain the interior walkways, failing to remedy the dangerous condition, failing to warn about it, and failing to train their employees in identifying such hazards.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against Walmart for an amount exceeding $50,000, along with pre-judgment interest, post-judgment interest, and any other relief deemed just by the court. He is represented by Michael Glisson of Williamson Webster Falb & Glisson.
