BELLEVILLE - A man claims he was injured when the handlbars of his Swagger 5 electric scooter broke off.
The lawsuit was filed in the St. Clair County Circuit Court by plaintiff Johnathan Pigg against Hoverzon, LLC, also known as Swagtron.
According to the complaint, Pigg purchased a Swagger 5 electric scooter, manufactured and sold by Hoverzon, from Amazon. He claims that while riding the electric scooter on Nov. 27, 2021, the handlebars malfunctioned and caused him to sustain a wrist injury.

Pigg claims he was legally disabled for nearly a month following the incident and was unable to work during that time.
He alleges Hoverzon failed to take proper precautions when manufacturing, marketing, distributing, and selling the Swagger 5 to the public and did not provide adequate warnings about potential dangers of using such a product.
The plaintiff is seeking damages exceeding $50,000, plus all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by Andrew Drazen of Page Law.
