BELLEVILLE  - A woman claims she was injured when she slipped and fell on ice at a Belleville Motomart.

The lawsuit was filed in the St. Clair County Circuit Court by plaintiff Latrinna Harris against FKG Oil Company and Moto, Inc., both doing business as Motomart.

According to the complaint, Harris was at the Motomart in Belleville on Jan. 2, 2021. She claims she slipped on an accumulation of ice under the fuel canopy while fueling her vehicle.

Harris alleges the defendants were negligent in maintaining the fuel island canopy and concrete pavement area at the gas station. She also alleges they failed to warn customers about the dangerous slippery condition and failed to provide a safe means of walking within their premises.

As a result of this alleged negligence, Harris states she suffered injuries, incurred medical expenses for treatment, will incur future medical expenses, sustained permanent partial disability and injuries, lost wages and will continue to do so, and experienced substantial pain and suffering.

Harris seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Jack A. Strellis from Strellis Firm Chartered.
