BELLEVILLE - A woman claims she was injured when a dog jumped on her without provocation.

The lawsuit was filed by Kathy Jo Lohrding in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against David Grossman and Jean M. Grossman.

According to the complaint, Lohrding alleges she was attacked by the defendants' dog at their residence in Mascoutah on Dec. 14, 2021. Specifically, she alleges the dog jumped onto her, causing her to suffer injuries to her face, jaw, neck, spine and head. She asserts that she did not provoke the dog and was peacefully conducting herself at the time of the incident.

Lohrding alleges both defendants violated the Illinois Animal Control Act. The plaintiff claims these injuries have resulted in severe pain and suffering, hindering her from performing her usual duties and causing significant financial loss due to medical expenses and damage to her person.

Lohrding seeks judgment against each defendant separately for an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorneys from Keefe and DePauli P.C.
