EDWARDSVILLE -

A woman claims she was injured when an artificial fire log fell on her at the Granite City Schnucks.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by Sue Counsell against Schnuck Markets, Inc., Schnucks, and Brian Feig.

The plaintiff alleges that she was injured when an artificial firelog fell from a display shelf while she was seated in an area designated for Instacart shoppers at one of the defendant's supermarkets located in Granite City.

The plaintiff claims the placement of the firelog constituted a dangerous condition and presented an unreasonable risk to those lawfully on the premises. She further alleges the defendants should have known about this danger and failed to maintain safe conditions or warn customers about potential hazards.

The plaintiff is seeking damages for her injuries, as well as prejudgment interest, post-judgment interest, and any other relief deemed just and proper by the court. She is represented by attorney Michael Glisson of Williamson Webster Falb and Glisson.
