EDWARDSVILLE - A shopper claims she suffered injuries when a motorist hit her in the Glen Carbon Walmart parking lot.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by Melba Boyd against Brian Mahanay.

According to the complaint, Mahanay was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado when he struck Boyd as she was walking in the Glen Carbon Walmart parking lot on Jan. 29, 2022.

As a result, Boyd claims she suffered a crushed right tibial tuberosity, injuries to her head, neck, back, right knee and right shoulder. She also alleges she incurred medical expenses and may incur additional expenses in the future.

Boyd seeks compensation in excess of $50,000, plus costs, interests, and all other relief deemed just. The plaintiff is represented by Matthew J. Sauter of Sauter Sullivan LLC.
