EDWARDSVILLE - A skater claims she was injured when she fell on an uneven surface at a skating rink in Granite City.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by Heavenly McCline against Skateway, Inc.

According to the complaint, McCline claims she was at the skating rink operated by the defendant in Granite City on Jan. 30, 2022. She claims she was roller skating when she fell on an uneven surface, causing her to suffer serious injuries to her back.

McCline alleges the defendant failed to maintain a safe skating surface at the rink and neglected its duty to inspect and maintain the skating surface before each session.

She claims her injuries have led to medical expenses, pain, suffering, and lost wages.

McCline seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by John Hipskind of Hipskind & McAninch LLC.
