EDWARDSVILLE - A former employee of Olin Winchester claims she was wrongfully terminated due to discrimination.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by plaintiff Corlis Mitchell against Olin Winchester, LLC.

The ccomplaint includes allegations of racial and sexual discrimination, retaliation, and violation of various Illinois employment laws.

Mitchell claims that despite her alleged successful pursuit of a previous action for unlawful discrimination against the defendant, the company continued to discriminate and retaliate against her based on her race and sex. This resulted in her termination from employment on what she describes as "pretextual grounds," the suit states

Mitchell also alleges she defended a co-worker who was being racially discriminated against by the company.

Mitchell seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Mark Schuver of Mathis Marifian and Richter in Belleville.
