Former Alton mayor sued over 2020 collision; Suit transferred to Madison County

EDWARDSVILLE - A motorist is suing the former Alton mayor for allegedly causing a 2020 collision.

The lawsuit was originally filed in the St. Clair County Circuit Court but was transferred to Madison County Circuit Court. The case was filed by plaintiff Harrison Henderson Jr. against former Alton mayor Brant Walker.

According to the complaint, Henderson claims Walker caused a collision by failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Walker was serving as mayor at the time of the crash and was driving a vehicle owned by the City of Alton. As a result, Henderson claims he suffered injuries, causing him to endure pain and suffering, loss of a normal life, and permanent disability. 

Henderson seeks damages in excess of $50,000. He is represented by lawyers with McGlynn & McGlynn.
