EDWARDSVILLE - A nursing home is being sued after one of its residents allegedly suffered an infection, resulting in amputation.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court against Edwardsville NH LLC, NH Operator Holdings VII, and Karlene S. Dotson by plaintiff Edward Blanke.

According to the complaint, Blanke alleges that while under the care of the defendants from March 3, 2021 to Sept. 14, 2021, he suffered a severe infection resulting in the amputation of his right leg. The plaintiff had previously undergone another amputation and was considered a significant risk for infection. Despite this assessment, the suit states that proper care was not provided and resulted in his alleged condition.

The lawsuit accuses the defendants of violating the Nursing Home Care Act and other related regulations.

Blanke seeks judgment in his favor, plus court costs. He is represented by Craig J. Jensen from MeyerJensen P.C.
