Collinsville homeowners claim their property suffered water damage when one of the plumbing fittings "catastrophically separated" from the pipe during a bathroom remodel and caused their home to flood.

The lawsuit was filed in the Madison County Circuit Court by James and Priscilla Yasitis against Jacob Family Enterprises, Inc. and Jasne Kitchen, Bath & Beyond LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that a plumbing fixture was negligently installed during the remodeling of their home, causing severe water damage throughout their property. The Yasitis claim the water infiltration within their premises created a high risk of mold development, posing a threat to their health and physical safety.

The plaintiffs are seeking judgment in excess of $50,000 from both defendants for negligence and breach of contract. They are represented by attorney Jason Johnson of James Kelly Law Firm in Edwardsville.
