EDWARDSVILLE – A woman is suing the Argosy Casino in Alton for negligence after a restroom door at the establishment allegedly came off its hinges and caused her to suffer injuries.

Plaintiff Flora Williams filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Alton Casino, LLC, doing business as Argosy Casino, citing negligence and premise liability.

According to the lawsuit, Williams was a patron of the Argosy Casino in Alton on March 3, 2022. Williams claims she had to use the establishment's restrooms and that when she was exiting the restroom stall, the door came off its hinges and struck her, causing her physical injury.

Williams claims the defendants were negligent in their failure to properly inspect and maintain the premises to protect the safety of their visitors. She also claims they were negligent in failing to provide proper warning of the dangerous conditions of the restroom.

Williams claims that, as a result of the defendant's negligence, she has sustained severe physical injuries.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Brady McAninch of Hipskind & McAninch, LLC, in Belleville.
