Shiloh residents claim home builder sold them defective home

BELLEVILLE – Shiloh homeowners are suing a property builder for allegedly selling them a house that was improperly constructed using inferior materials and workmanship.

Plaintiffs John Smith and Mistie Tennant filed a lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against defendants Chris Jones and C.A. Jones, Inc.

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiffs purchased a new home located in Shiloh in December 2020, which was constructed by the defendants. The plaintiffs claim that following the purchase of the home, they discovered the property was improperly constructed using inferior materials. 

The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. They are represented in this case by attorney Thomas G. Maag of Maag Law Firm, LLC in Wood River.
