EDWARDSVILLE – A man is suing Cassens Transport Company in Edwardsville, alleging that one of its drivers hit him while loading a vehicle onto a truck.
Plaintiffs Marvin and Sarah Page filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against defendants Darren Becton and Cassens Transport Company, doing business as Cassens Transport, doing business as Cassens, citing negligence.
According to the lawsuit, Becton was employed by Cassens to work at a loading facility in Louisville, Ken. Marvin Page worked at the same loading facility for a different employer. The plaintiff alleges that on July 22, 2020, both Page and Becton were working at the facility when Becton began the process of loading an SUV onto a truck. Page claims Becton put his vehicle into reverse and crashed into Page, who was walking in the parking lot.
The plaintiff claims his injuries have caused him to experience pain and suffering, disfigurement, disability, loss of a normal life and will affect his ability to earn income. The lawsuit also states that Marvin has incurred medical expenses and will continue to require the services of medical staff to recover.
Sarah Page alleges that as a result of the incident, she has been deprived of her husband's consortium, society and companionship.
The plaintiffs are demanding a trial by jury to seek damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. They are represented in this case by the attorneys of Miller King LLC in Alton.
