EDWARDSVILLE - An Alton woman is suing Godfrey homeowners after she was allegedly attacked by two pit bulls while visiting their home.

Tracy Riggs filed the complaint in the Madison County Circuit Court against Rob and Julie Lenhardt.

According to the complaint, Riggs claims she suffered torn flesh, nerve and muscle damage and "permanent scarring" after she was attacked by two pit bulls owned by the Lenhardts on March 7. She alleges the dogs attacked her without provocation while she was at the defendants' home in Godfrey.

The suit states that the pit bulls had "aggressive tendencies." Riggs alleges she was not warned about the dogs' dangerous behavior. She also claims the defendants failed to isolate the dogs while the plaintiff was visiting their home.

Riggs claims she incurred medical bills as a result of the injuries. She also claims she endured pain and suffering from the attack and has been prevented from attending to her usual duties and affairs.

Riggs seeks a judgment in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Lanny Darr of the Darr Law Offices in Alton.
