BELLEVILLE – A Belleville couple is suing Klemme Construction alleging that one of its employees caused the plaintiff to suffer severe injuries.
Plaintiffs Robert and Nicole Haley filed a lawsuit May 2 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against defendant Klemme Construction, Inc, citing negligence and recklessness by employee Russell Konieczny.
According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 11, 2022, Konieczny was traveling southbound on Foxtail Drive in Freeburg when he struck Robert Haley with his vehicle, knocked him on the ground, ran over his legs, and pinned him underneath his truck. The lawsuit also alleges that following the initial accident, Konieczny reversed his vehicle, driving over Robert a second time and caused him further unnecessary injury.
Robert Haley states that he has suffered "great physical pain and mental anguish" and the lawsuit further claims that his injuries, which may be permanent, will cause him to experience pain and suffering in the future and will affect his ability to earn income.
Nicole Haley alleges that as a result of the incident, she has been deprived of her husband's consortium.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. They are represented in this case by attorney David C. Nelson of Nelson & Nelson, Attorneys at Law, P.C. in Belleville.
