EDWARDSVILLE - A driver is suing Berco Construction following a car crash at an intersection in Edwardsville, which allegedly left her with permanent injuries.
Plaintiff Carol Anderson filed the lawsuit on March 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Berco Construction, Inc., citing negligence and recklessness by employee Richard Stutz.
According to the lawsuit, on Sept. 8, 2020, Anderson was driving southbound at the intersection of Madison Ave. and Franklin Ave. in Edwardsville when Stutz allegedly ran a stop sign and collided with her vehicle with his truck. Anderson claims that Stutz was driving his vehicle at a rate of speed that was "not reasonable" for the traffic conditions.
As a result, Anderson claims she has suffered injuries to various parts of her body including her chest, neck, knee and hand.
The lawsuit states that Anderson has incurred medical expenses as a result of the collision and continues to experience "pain and suffering and mental anguish."
Anderson is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs, interest and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorneys Michael P. Glisson and Timothy J. Chartrand of Williamson, Webste, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
